Ministry looks into initiative for children
The Education Ministry is now looking into a nationwide initiative to hand out laptops to school children.

Minister Filipe Bole said that the project called "One Laptop per child" - OLPC - which will be piloted next year, will see children being able to access new channels of learning, sharing and self-expression through child friendly computers.

OLPC is a non-profit organization that creates and distributes computers sufficiently affordable to emerging nations.

Some of the nations helped under OLPC are South and Central America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

The Project will be piloted in January next year.
