It is alleged that someone tried to burn down the historic Ivi Tree in Suva last night.
According to John O’Connor National Fire Authority Chief Executive Officer, fire officers found rubbish at the base of the tree which was used in trying to set the tree alight.
According to O’Connor the fire was put out in time with no significant damages to the tree.
