Fatal road accident driver charged

Charges have been laid against the 26 year old bus driver bus who was involved in fatal road accident in Karavi Ba on Friday morning.

The driver has been charged with 3 counts of causing death by dangerous driving and 2 counts of dangerous driving causing harm.
 
The post mortem of the three victims was conducted today with results showing that they died as a result of injuries caused by the accident.

The driver will be appearing in Ba Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Meanwhile, a Tavua community is in shock following a horrific road accident which has claimed the lives of three people from one family.

A close family member, Anita Rohini said that the family was on their way back to Malele Tavua after dropping relatives at the airport who had come to Fiji to attend the wedding of the 26 year old Shelvin Kumar who got married just two weeks ago to 19 year old Shinal Singh who passed away last Friday morning.

40 year old Savita Devi, her 21 year old son Elvin Kumar and 19 year old daughter in law Shinal Singh lost their lives in the fatal accident at Karavi Ba on Friday.

Rohini said the father and son who are still admitted at the hospital are not aware that they have lost three members of their family.

The accident occurred when the rental car collided with a bus.
