Yaro Chiefs prop Wame Ratuva says he is prepared to step up for the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side if given the opportunity to join the extended squad.
Ratuva highlighted this to fijivillage Sports when asked about Fiji 7s coach Osea Kolinisau’s comments that he is keeping an eye on standout players from the McDonald’s Coral Coast Fiji 7s, one of those mentioned was Ratuva.
The 30-year-old hails from the village of Vunavutu in Nadroga.
He attended primary school at Sigatoka District School, and began his secondary education at Sigatoka Methodist High School in Year 9.
He then moved to Ratu Kadavulevu School, where he completed Years 10 to 13.
Ratuva says this year marks his fifth appearance at the Coral Coast 7s.
He first played for Ratu Filise from 2018 to 2020, last year, he represented Fire, and this year, he joined the Yaro Chiefs.
Ratuva also acknowledged the support of the Tui Lawa during their preparations for the Coral Coast 7s, saying it gave the team a major boost and helped them achieve their goals.
