Students studying at Nokonoko District School, Andrews Primary School, Nawaka District School, Nadi Muslim College and Lovu Sangam School will remain at home today as their schools are currently operating as evacuation centres.

The Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro, says all other schools in the Western Division may reopen.

He says schools in the Northern, Eastern and Central Divisions will continue to operate as normal, and weather conditions across all four divisions are currently fine.

Parents and guardians are reminded to take precautionary measures as we are still in the cyclone season, and changes in weather patterns may result in rain or localised flooding.

The Minister is urging parents to ensure their children do not attempt to cross flooded roads, creeks or rivers, to avoid unnecessary travel, and to continue monitoring official weather updates and advisories.
