The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua side has praised the Fiji Rugby Union, Sunbell, and other sponsors for organising a competition that gives local players a platform to develop.
Co-Captain Temo Mayanavanua says the team learned a lot in the first half against Skipper Select.
He says despite the 78-12 victory, there were some weaknesses that the players need to improve on before next week’s game.
Mayanavanua adds that the team must improve their physicality under the current hot conditions to maintain momentum throughout the game until the final whistle.
He also highlighted that new players in the team showcased strong performances and are expected to improve further ahead of the Super Rugby Competition, which kicks off next Saturday.
Mayanavanua is calling on fans to come out in numbers to support the Drua next week.
The Drua will take on Moana Pasifika at 3.35pm next Saturday at Churchill Park in Lautoka for their first Super Rugby Pacific match.
