Coral Coast Fiji 7s: Perry Baker double secures Mike Friday Select's spot in semis

The McDonald's Mike Friday Select 7s side are through to the cup semi finals of the McDonald’s Coral Coast Fiji 7s after edging Jack’s of Fiji Devo Babas 10-7 in a tight quarter final clash at Lawaqa Park.

Devo Babas struck first through Esala Boseiwaqa who strolled in for an easy try to give them an early 7-0 lead.

Former USA winger Perry Baker smoked defenders down the sideline to get a double and give his team the win in front of a roaring crowd at Lawaqa Park.

Devo Babas struck first, but former USA speedster Perry Baker scored twice to seal the win.

In other men's quarters, Ravuka Sharks beat NZ Development 24-7, Yaro Chiefs cruised past NZ Fijian Cavaliers 31-5, and Police Blue edged Australia Select 19-14.

Semi finals start at 1.30pm, with the final at 5.35 this afternoon.

In the Bred Bank Youth 7s, Taveuni Grassroots, St Theresa Nukubalavu, Brisk Birdland Brothers and Village Boys are through to the semis.

Women’s results, Police Blue shut out Pacific Nomads 19-0, Bilo Bar Aflame Women won 21-7, Briars beat NZ Development 38-19, and the Fijiana 7s defeated China 1 21-12.
