Olympic gold medalist and Fiji 7s star Jiuta Wainiqolo has married the love of his life, Fiona Weleilakeba in his home town, Navua today.

They signed their marriage certificate at the Registrar General’s Office before having the traditional ceremony in Navua.

Jiuta’s father Nemia had highlighted that they had initially planned a huge wedding celebration but due to the current COVID-19 protocols, they are just celebrating it on a small scale with their immediate family members.

Nemia says this is a proud moment for their family as Jiuta will be leaving for France soon.

The 23-year-old has secured a three-year contract with the French Top 14 club, Toulon.

Jiuta Wainiqolo is from Namara in Vuda while Fiona is from Qeleni in Taveuni.
