Soccer players in Fiji who are caught using drugs can be banned for life from next year.
This has been confirmed by Fiji Football Association President Rajesh Patel who says they have a very stringent drug policy coming through from the World Anti-Doping Agency which they have circulated to the districts.
He says this will educate the players which banned substances come under the World Anti-Doping Agency to ensure players know what substances they cannot take.
Patel says to help with this, a medical team will be going around the districts to educate them.
He says they are doing this because from next year FASANOC is coming on board with their own anti-doping body like World Anti-Doping Agency where those who are caught will be banned for life.
Patel adds they conducted a total of 96 drug test during the Punjas Battle of the Giants where two of them tested positive.
