Electrifying winger Taniela Rakuro has extended his contract with the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua.

The Vusama, Nadroga man will be in the Fijian Drua 2026 Super Rugby Pacific season squad.

Rakuro is among the Drua’s top try scorers with nine tries in 23 appearances.

The Drua says Rakuro has been assigned to play for the Yarrow’s Taranaki Bulls in the 2025 Bunnings Warehouse NPC competition, providing him with valuable game time during the offseason.

They say he quickly made an impact for Taranaki, scoring five tries in their 97-0 victory over Thames Valley during a pre-season trial.

The 25-year-old says he is grateful to God for this opportunity to represent the Fijian Drua again in the 2026 season, and he wants to thank the coaches and management for believing in him.

Fijian Drua General Manager Rugby Baden Stephenson says Rakuro is a popular member of the squad, and they are very pleased to see him stay in the Drua jersey.

He says Rakuro really had a strong second half of the 2025 Super Rugby season, where he was able to showcase his effort areas, speed, and infectious energy in both attack and defence.
