New jersey design for Fiji Men's 7s and Fijiana 7s

New jersey design for Fiji Men's 7s and Fijiana 7s

The Fiji 7s teams will be running out during the HSBC SVNS Dubai 7s in a refreshed look that honours tradition, identity, and the spirit of the nation.

The Fiji Rugby Union says this latest design carries deep cultural symbolism, celebrating the unity and values that define Fiji’s world-renowned sevens teams.

They say that at the heart of the pattern is the iconic triangular huddle, a formation the players gather in before every match.

FRU says their fingers point upward in this moment, symbolising togetherness, collective purpose, and reverence for God.

It adds that this design element has been woven into the jersey to reflect the spiritual grounding and brotherhood/sisterhood that drive both teams on and off the field.

A notable addition to the new range is the colour green, a core shade drawn from the Fiji Rugby colour palette, and this green is inspired by Fiji’s lush tropical landscape, a reminder of home, heritage, and the environment that shapes our people.

FRU says its inclusion brings a fresh vibrancy to the jersey while continuing to honour the natural beauty of Fiji.

Acting FRU CEO Koli Sewabu says the new jersey is a powerful blend of meaning and modern design.

He says it represents who we are, what we stand for, and the traditions that guide our teams every time they step onto the field.

The Fiji Men’s 7s team will open their Dubai campaign against Argentina at 9.10 tonight, before facing South Africa at 12.16am tomorrow and France at 4.12am tomorrow.

The men’s semifinals begin at 10.06pm tomorrow, with the final to be played at 4.11am Monday.

Meanwhile, the Fijiana 7s team will take on the USA at 7.20 tonight, followed by France at 9.59 tonight and New Zealand at 1.27am tomorrow.

The women’s semifinals begin at 9.12pm tomorrow, with the final scheduled for 3.35am Monday.
