New champ to be crowned in boys U19 Secondary School Basketball competition

Suva Grammar beat Marist Brothers 22-8 in quarter-finals

A new champion will be crowned in the U19 Vodafone Fiji Secondary Basketball Championship boys division after defending champion Marist Brothers High School was bundled out by Suva Grammar School 22-8 in the quarter finals today.

It was an intense battle between the two teams, but the boys from Nasese were much stronger than their rivals from Flagstaff.

In other quarter-final results, International School Suva defeated Swami Vivekananda College 27-15, favourites Church College Fiji defeated John Wesley College 21-9, and Yat Sen Secondary School thumped QVS 27-4.

In the U17 grade, Marist, Yat Sen, Church College Fiji, and International School Suva have booked their places in the semi finals after winning their respective quarter final matches this morning.

Marist Brothers beat Central Mission College 33-16, Yat Sen Secondary defeated International School Nadi 37-19, Church College Fiji edged Tilak Secondary School 20-19, and International School Suva beat Suva Grammar School 30-19.
