Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro today launched the Vodafone Super Deans Competition

Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro today launched the Vodafone Super Deans Competition as it embarks on its 85th Year of competition in the country amplifying the recent success of students who have become successful rugby players.

While officiating at the event, Radrodro says events of this magnitude have become one of the major sporting events in the school calendar with the help of co-operate sponsors who contribute positively to the well-being of students and the tournament.

He says as we count down to this year's season final with more than 117 teams from around Fiji taking part in all divisions, he stresses the need for fairness in maintaining the rules so our players become good sportsmen and sportswomen in the future.

Radrodro adds the Ministry is thankful to all schools and management for looking after the welfare of students during the season and he hopes this will continue till the finals.

Furthermore, Radrodro says we should celebrate in good spirits the 85 years of championships that this competition has brought as they remember those who have made Fiji proud on the world stage being good ambassadors and Olympic medalists carving their names in historic sporting books.

The Weet-Bix Raluve competition quarter finals will be played at the HFC Bank Stadium and Buckhurst Park tomorrow while the Vodafone Super Deans quarter finals will be played at the same venues on Saturday.
