The Marist Brothers High School hostel dog, Filo, has stolen the show at their school inter-house competition for the second year in a row.

Filo was seen competing and running with students on the tracks, even beating some runners.

Over the years, the Marist fraternity has had a close relationship with the school's watchdogs and the dogs in the Ratu Mara Hostel, which the Brothers introduced in the early '90s.

Their dog, Rufus, gained legendary status in the '90s after becoming their Coca-Cola Games team mascot.

The late Brother Theophane, who raised Rufus, became the mascot and followed MBHS students to rugby matches and other games.

Today, Marist students still uphold the tradition of entertaining their parents and guardians with school dogs running by their side, reinforcing the saying that dogs are a man’s best friend.
