Labasa is determined to end its 26-year wait for a home soil title as they prepare to face Navua tomorrow in the first semi final of the Extra Battle of the Giants.
Labasa coach Alvin Chand told fijivillage Sports that the task is huge and the pressure is doubled when playing at home.
Chand says the team has been in camp since Monday, training together daily to fine-tune their preparations.
He says that when he joined, one of his duties was to improve certain areas, and with their focused training since January, they are now seeing the results.
The coach says the players’ attention to detail has shaped the game structure they are showing.
When asked about the midfield, Chand says they will be focusing on ensuring there is a good flow of passes during the crucial semi final.
He has urged fans to give positive encouragement rather than making negative remarks from the stands.
On injuries, Chand says they are still assessing some niggles and will finalise the starting eleven on Saturday.
The coach has confirmed that midfielder Akemi Ralulu will not feature due to a knee injury sustained earlier.
Labasa will take on Navua at 2pm while Rewa will play defending champions Lautoka at 4.30pm tomorrow at Subrail Park.
The final will be played at 3pm on Sunday.
