Fiji Water Flying Fijians fullback and former Waratahs utility back Vuate Karawalevu has today signed a full-time contract with the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua for the 2025 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season.

This was confirmed by the Fijian Drua today.

While speaking on the contract signing, Karawalevu says he feels incredibly excited and blessed to join the Fijian Drua.

He says it is an honour to play for his home team, and he can not wait to give his all on the field.

He adds he is ready for this new chapter and grateful for the opportunity to represent where he comes from.

The 23-year-old made his international debut for the Flying Fijians against Samoa in round 1 of the Asahi Dry Pacific Nations Cup last week where he also scored a try in the match.

Karawalevu featured for the Waratahs in this year’s Super Rugby Pacific competition.

He also represented the Fiji Bati at the 2021 Rugby League World Cup.

The former Marist Brothers High School student was also part of the Kaiviti Silktails side that are currently part of the Ron Massey Cup competition before joining North Sydney Bears in the NSW Cup competition.

He was also part of the Sydney Roosters set-up in the NRL competition.

Karawalevu will add more depth now to the Fijian Drua backline, especially in the fullback position.

Karawalevu is currently training with the Flying Fijians as they prepare for their 2nd PNC clash next Friday against Tonga.

Meanwhile, this week’s PNC games will see Samoa playing Tonga at 4pm tomorrow and the USA will host Canada at 1pm Sunday.
