Penioni Tagituimua scored a double in the match

The Kaiviti Silktails scored seven tries as they thrashed the Windsor Wolves 40-16 at Lautoka's Churchill Park this afternoon in Round 1 of the Ron Massey Cup.

This was the Kaiviti Silktails first match in the competition.

Penioni Tagituimua and Rupeni Naikawakawa scored a double each.

Other tries came from Vereti Peceli, Apimeleki Lutuimawi and Ratu Timoci Namotukola.

Namotukola also made six successful conversions in the match.

The two teams were locked 16-all at half time.

The Kaiviti Silktails were admitted to the Ron Massey Cup in October in a historic decision by the New South Wales Rugby League in Australia which will see Fijian players provided with another pathway to play Rugby League.

The inclusion of the Silktails has also been made possible through support from the Australian Government’s PacificAus Sports Program.
