NDRMO urges early preparedness as TD11F develops north of Fiji
The Fiji National Disaster Risk Management Office (NDRMO) is advising all Fijians to remain alert and begin early preparedness measures as Tropical Depression 11F continues to develop to the north of the country.

Members of the public are urged to stay informed through official updates from the Fiji Meteorological Service and NDRMO.

The NDRMO is asking people to review and update household emergency plans and prepare emergency kits with essential supplies such as food, water, medications, and important documents.

They say to secure loose items around homes and properties, exercise caution at sea and follow all marine advisories.

The NDRMO says Tropical Depression 11F was located north of Fiji and moving slowly, with winds of around 46 kilometres per hour near its centre and increased organisation over the past 24 hours, accompanied by active thunderstorms mainly to the north and east.

They say the system is expected to track south-southeast and may strengthen further, with a moderate to high likelihood of developing into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 to 48 hours due to favourable conditions, including warm sea temperatures.

The NDRMO is closely monitoring the situation in coordination with the Fiji Meteorological Service and relevant agencies. Updates will be issued as more information becomes available.
