Digicel Fiji 7s team playmaker Ilai Tinai has been ruled out of the Japan 7s tournament after the spear tackle he made on a Wales player during the final of the Hong Kong 7s.
Head coach Alifereti Dere confirmed that IRB has suspended Tinai for a week which will rule him out of the tournament.
Speaking from Japan, Dere said they are looking at who should replace Tinai.
Meanwhile, Fiji will play all its three pool matches of the Japan 7s on Saturday.
First up is South Africa at 1.44pm before meeting Spain at 5.51pm and Portugal at 9.19pm.
The Cup quarters start at 1.28pm Sunday, Cup semis at 5.08pm and the Cup final is at 7.33pm Sunday.
