Cooper Cronk spent 14 seasons at Melbourne forming strong bonds and creating a legend but the Storm are adamant there will be no room for sentiment on Sunday night should their old mate defy the odds and take his place in the Roosters line up.
The league world has held its breath all week as Cronk has raced the clock to try and overcome a serious shoulder injury and the Storm are well aware of the halfback's recuperative powers.
Storm assistant coach Adam O'Brien says there is a lot of emotional attachment with Cooper Cronk but he understands as well as anyone that for those 80 minutes the storm will go at him.
If Cronk is ruled out, O'Brien said the defending premiers have prepared for several different scenarios.
Defending Champion, the Melbourne Storm take on the Sydney Roosters at 9.20 tonight.
