Samoan rugby sevens coach Viliamu Punivalu will use the Fiji Water Centennial Oceania 7s tournament to finalize his best twelve players for the Gold Coast 7s.
Punivalu said next week's tournament will be crucial for most of his players.
Samoa will feature in the Oceania tournament in the Fiji Water Centennial International 7s next Friday and Saturday at the ANZ Stadium with PNG, Fiji, Australia, American Samoa, Cook Islands, Solomon Islands and Tuvalu.
The International tournament will only feature Argentina, France and USA.
Meanwhile, two top local sevens teams are expected to feature in the Fiji Water Centennial Oceania 7s.
FRU Acting CEO Dr Berlin Kafoa said they will analyze the top 7s teams performances this year before an invitation letter will be sent out.
Red Rock and Westfield Barbarians are likely to make the cut.
