Blues coach Leon MacDonald has praised Ma'a Nonu for his game‑changing effort in the Blues 32‑29 victory over Waratahs last night.
McDonald says that Nonu was outstanding during the game and his defence was abrasive.
This is the fourth straight win for the Blues ever since 2011 where they reached the semi-finals.
36‑year‑old Nonu turned back the clock with a magnificent performance last night which indicated that he can at least contend for a place in the All Blacks World Cup squad this year.
Nonu was rock solid in all aspects of the game, strong defence, accurate passing and brutal with the ball in hand.
He was also involved in setting up two tries by Tom Robinson and Caleb Clark and he also scored a try.
In other results, the Sharks thrashed the Lions 42-5, the Crusaders defeated the Brumbies 36‑14, the Rebels thumped the Sunwolves 42‑15 and the Jaguares edged the Bulls 22-20.
