The Fiji Women’s Basketball team opening Pacific Games pool game did not start well losing to Papua New Guinea 56-53 this afternoon.
Fiji’s next game is against Guam on Wednesday.
In Cricket the Fiji cricket side thumped hosts New Caledonia by a massive 133 runs
They will play Vanuatu tomorrow.
In swimming, Also coming up tonight at 8pm the finals of the swimming competition in the 100 meter butterfly, 200 meter back stroke, 200 meter free-style and 800 meter free-style.
Fiji’s hopes will be on young Tieri Erasito, Carl Probert, Rosemary Rova, Douglas Miller and Matelita Buadromo.
Meanwhile, Fiji has so far won one bronze medal, which has been in the women’s Va’a 1500m.
