Fiji Barbarians lose close CC7s final to Australia Gold

The Fiji Barbarians have lost to Australia Gold 19‑17 in the Central Coast 7s final.

Australia scored two tries early in the first half to lead 14-0 before Barbarians Playmaker Waisea Nacuqu scored a try to close the points gap to 14-5 at halftime.

Lanky forward Apisai Domolailai scored the first points in the second half as Fiji trailed 14-10.

Australia Gold scored one more try to lead 19-10 before Mesulame Kunavula scored the last try to bring the score to 19-17.

Australia won 20,000 Australian dollars in prize money.
