Former SODELPA Leader and Opposition Leader Ro Teimumu Kepa has confirmed that she will contest this year’s general elections after a formal request from the vanua and her supporters.

The Burebasaga SODELPA Youth Group from Fiji and abroad asked her to contest the election.

This request was then taken up to the Bose Vanua who then requested Ro Teimumu if she can contest the election.

Ro Teimumu said that she will do it for the people of Rewa.

The SODELPA Victoria Group Chairman Simione Kaitani also wrote to the party headquarters to show their support for Ro Teimumu to contest.

Ro Teimumu had earlier announced that she would retire from politics after the current parliamentary term.

She could not be reached for a comment.
