Two vehicles passing along Dilkusha Road this afternoon were pushed down to the bank of the Rewa River when two major landslides including a minor slip occurred along that road.

This has been confirmed by the Fiji Roads Authority who says there are no major injuries or fatalities that have been reported.

The landslides are near Dilkusha Home.

The road has also been blocked off by fallen tree branches.

A team from the Fiji Roads Authority is now at the site of the landslide in Dilkusha.

Motorists travelling through the Nakasi-Nausori area are urged to remain vigilant as some roads there are flooded and maybe inaccessible for light vehicles.

We have also received confirmation that Koronivia Road is flooded and it is inaccessible to light vehicles.

Some light vehicles were stuck along Koronivia Road earlier this afternoon.

In Nakasi, flood waters have entered about 20 houses in Mataika Road.

A resident Ran Pal says blocked drains in the area caused the flooding.

He says flood waters started to rise in Mataika Road in Nakasi at around 4 this afternoon.

Officers from the Nausori Police Station visited and helped the  residents in area that needed assistance this afternoon.

About 30 houses in Waidamudamu Settlement in Nausori are also affected by floodwaters.

A resident Praneel Prasad says the floodwaters entered those houses at around 3 this afternoon.

He says blocked drains in the area contributed to the flooding there.

The rain currently being experienced in parts of the country is being brought by a weak trough of low pressure.

It is expected to affect Fiji until Tuesday.
