Chinese national, Yin Qing Qing has been sentenced to 10 months imprisonment after pleading guilty for possessing property suspected to be proceeds of crime.
Qing Qing has already served four months at the remand centre.
Suva Magistrate Sufia Hamza has given Qing Qing 28 days to appeal.
Qing Qing was found in possession of $3,835 in cash at her Yue Lai Hotel room plus $3,009.98 that was in her MPAiSA account that was suspected of being proceeds of crime through gainful employment whilst in the jurisdiction.
She, along with Josua Ravula were earlier charged with a count of unlawful possession of 42.9 grams of methamphetamine.
However, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions amended the charges as there was no evidence to charge her for being in possession of illicit drugs.
