A woman in her 20s has lost her life in an alleged drowning case, while the search continues for her husband who was swept away in the Navilawa River in Sabeto, Nadi.
Police say the couple were trying to cross the Navilawa river yesterday afternoon, when they were swept away by strong currents.
The woman was later found a few metres from where they had crossed, while her husband is still missing.
Search efforts will continue today.
A post mortem will be conducted to confirm the victim's cause of death.
