Viria Bluez, the first team to win the inaugural Flame Tree Waimanu 7’s Tournament three years ago at Sawani Grounds, is gearing up for another strong campaign as the competition returns this weekend.

Viria Bluez Rugby Coach, Senijiale Qiokata says preparations for this year’s tournament have remained consistent with the approach taken last season.

Qiokata says the team continues to train at Sawani, focusing heavily on discipline both on and off the field.

He adds that they are grateful for the immense support from the Vanua, noting that rugby has become an important avenue to address issues affecting communities, including the growing challenge of drug abuse.

He says this support system motivates the players and strengthens their commitment to representing their district with pride.

Qiokata is also calling on supporters from Naitasiri, Tailevu, and Lomaivuna to come out in numbers to support the players this weekend.
