Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu says the Fiji Police Force faces a difficult journey in rebuilding public trust and confidence and is urging officers to remain loyal to their oath and demonstrate integrity in their service to the nation.
He made the comments while speaking during the Fiji Police Force’s quarterly Church Parade at the World Harvest Centre this morning, where he addressed members of the Force, including senior officers and recruits, about the challenges confronting the organisation as it works to restore its reputation.Insert: Tudravu on public trust 15th Mar 26
Commissioner Tudravu also acknowledged the President of Christian Mission Fellowship International, Reverend Suliasi Kurulo, for accepting their request to host the service and for the church’s continued support for law enforcement.

Tudravu says the police organisation continues to face criticism and public perception issues, including being labelled untrustworthy, corrupt and compromised.
He also acknowledges that the actions of a few individuals have had a lasting impact on the image of the entire force.

He calls on officers to help change those perceptions through honest work, professional conduct and a continued commitment to their oath to serve with integrity.
The Police Commissioner also notes that, like many Fijians, police officers turn to faith during difficult times, seeking strength and comfort to cope with the trauma, stress and grief often associated with policing.
During the church service, Reverend Kurulo delivers a message encouraging officers to remain steadfast in their calling, stressing that quitting was not an option despite the challenges they may face.
He reminds officers that perspective and attitude can shape their future, urging them to walk by faith and remain strong in fulfilling their duty to serve the people of Fiji.
Commissioner Tudravu also acknowledges the continued support of Fiji’s faith-based organisations, thanking them for their prayers for police officers and their families as the organisation navigates both internal and external challenges.
He reaffirms his leadership’s strategic focus on strengthening systems and support mechanisms within the force to improve service delivery, while working towards stability and long-term growth for the organisation.
