South Africa’s two-time Rugby World Cup–winning captain, Siya Kolisi, will return to the Stormers in July next year.

This was announced by the Cape Town-based franchise as Kolisi began his professional career with them before joining the Durban-based Sharks in 2020.

After a stint with French Top 14 club Racing 92, he returned to the Sharks in 2024.

The 34-year-old says the move will allow him to be closer to his family in Cape Town and give back to the team and fans who supported him throughout his career.

Kolisi has earned 103 Test caps for South Africa and led the team to two Rugby World Cup victories.

The Springboks, currently ranked number one in the world, enjoyed a strong season, including a record 43–10 victory over New Zealand in Wellington and winning all five of their northern hemisphere Autumn internationals.

South Africa will aim for a historic third consecutive Rugby World Cup title at the 2027 tournament in Australia, where they will face Italy, Georgia, and Romania in the pool stage.

At the Stormers, Kolisi will join fellow Springboks Cobus Reinach and star fly-half Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu.
