Sinukakala Amazons ready to make their mark at the Labasa 7s

The Sinukakala Amazons women’s rugby team is all set to make their mark at this year’s Fiji Bitter Labasa 7s, with Coach Tomasi Katonivualiku praising the team’s preparation and spirit.

He says the Amazons have enjoyed success in previous tournaments, and very confident as they are coming off a win at the Yalovata 7s in Ovalau.

Although they missed the Wairiki 7s due to financial constraints, Katonivualiku says the team managed to fundraise their trip to Labasa, and preparations have been progressing smoothly.

The coach says many of the players will be travelling to Labasa for the first time, and the team feels blessed for the opportunity to compete.

He highlighted that their focus in training has been on defence and on-field communication, with the coaching staff working hard in the final days leading up to the tournament.

Katonivualiku also speaks about the team’s new side, which started last year in the Under-20 competitions, winning most of the tournaments and reaching every final.
