The man charged in connection with the alleged murder of a woman following a heated argument in Veisari on the 6th of this month has been remanded in custody.

Taione Senikaucava appeared before Suva Magistrate Yogesh Prasad this morning, charged with one count of murder.
In court, confusion arose due to the absence of the state counsel.

When the court inquired, it was revealed that the case file had not been sent to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.

Senikaucava is being represented by the Legal Aid Commission.

The matter has been adjourned to the 14th of January, 2026.
