The search continues for a 50-year-old man and a 65-year-old man who were swept away by strong river currents in separate incidents on Monday afternoon.
Police say the first incident occurred in the Tulahewa River in Sigatoka, where the 50-year-old man went missing after attempting to swim across the river while returning from his farm.
They say he was reportedly overpowered by fast-flowing water and disappeared.
In a separate incident in Cogea Village in Bua, a 65-year-old man was swept away while trying to cross a swollen river near his village.
Police say rising water levels and strong currents are believed to have contributed to the incident.
Search and rescue efforts were activated following the incidents and remain ongoing, while investigations continue.
Authorities are urging the public to exercise extreme caution, particularly when crossing rivers or travelling during periods of heavy rain.
