Riteish Deshmukh is set to bring the inspiring story of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to the big screen with his upcoming film Raja Shivaji.
The teaser of the historical drama has been released giving audiences a glimpse into the life and legacy of Shivaji Maharaj, highlighting his rise against powerful forces to establish Swarajya.
The film features a star-studded cast including Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Vidya Balan, Genelia Deshmukh, Mahesh Manjrekar, Bhagyashree and Fardeen Khan among others.
The teaser opens with Dutt portraying Afzal Khan, followed by appearances from Bachchan as Sambhaji Shahaji Bhosale and Genelia Deshmukh as Saibai, along with several other key characters.
The film is written and directed by Riteish Deshmukh and is presented by Jio Studios. It is produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Genelia Deshmukh under the Mumbai Film Company banner.
Raja Shivaji will be released on May 1st.
