Real Madrid climbed to the top of La Liga after securing a dominant 4–1 win over Real Sociedad at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
Madrid needed just five minutes to take the lead through Gonzalo Garcia, setting the tone early in the contest.
Sociedad briefly equalised in the 21st minute, but the hosts quickly regained control.
Vinicius Junior restored Madrid’s advantage in the 25th minute, and Federico Valverde extended the lead to 3–1 just six minutes later, giving the home side firm control heading into half-time.
Vinicius struck again early in the second half to score his second of the match and Madrid’s fourth, effectively putting the result beyond doubt.
The victory moves Real Madrid to 60 points, two clear of second place Barcelona, who face Girona on Tuesday.
