Parts of Nadi were inundated by floodwaters this afternoon following heavy rain, with some residential areas experiencing repeated flooding.
Nawaka Tramline resident, Sumeet Sen Ram says water levels had receded earlier, bringing temporary relief to families affected by the initial flooding, however, the heavy rain this afternoon caused water levels to rise again.
He says that although the rain has eased to light showers, floodwaters remain inside his compound and around affected homes.
Despite the flooding, Ram confirmed that there are no disruptions to water or electricity supply in the area.
He adds that residents in low-lying areas remain concerned that continued rain could worsen the situation.
Meanwhile, a Flash Flood Warning remains in force for Viti Levu, while a Flash Flood Alert remains in force for Vanua Levu.
A Heavy Rain Warning also remains in force for Fiji.
People are urged to remain vigilant and follow official warnings, as localised heavy rain may still lead to flash flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
