Serious sexual offences continues to be a concern as 126 cases involving 252 counts of serious sexual offences were filed in the High Court last year.
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions says most victims were women and children including, a four-year-old girl allegedly raped by her father.
The ODPP says there were 141 people charged with the 252 counts of sexual offences adding 20 were juveniles under the age of 18.
In another case a 5-year-old girl was a victim of rape who was allegedly raped by her 74-year-old grandfather.
The youngest accused person was a 12-year-old boy who was charged with the rape of his 6-year-old cousin while in another case, a 13-year-old boy was charged with the rape of a 5-year-old girl from his village.
They say the offences included 174 counts of rape, 2 of attempted rape, 3 of aiding and abetting rape, 1 of incest by a relative, 1 act with intent to commit rape, 11 of indecent assault, 4 of defilement, and 56 of sexual assault.
The ODPP says there were 135 victims, of whom 79 were under the age of 18, stressing that 120 were females and 15 were males.

The ODPP highlights a total of 16 cases were withdrawn after discontinuances were filed due to various reasons in 2025.
