Police officers serving in the Northern Division have been reminded of the importance of maintaining professionalism in all aspects of their policing duties.
While speaking during their divisional parade, Divisional Police Commander North, Senior Superintendent of Police Kemueli Baledrokadroka emphasized that policing goes beyond the enforcement of laws, saying that officers play a critical role in building trust and strong relationships within communities.
He says when people look at policing in totality, officers are more than just first responders; they are also counsellors who must manage tense situations.
He highlighted the importance of community policing as a key approach in addressing the root causes of crime, stressing that officers must give communities a reason to support and work alongside the police.
SSP Baledrokadroka says our communities want quality and consistent services, adding that public confidence depends on the conduct and commitment of officers on the ground.
He also called on officers to be passionate, motivated, and committed to performing at their best at all times.
He says if we get things right now, everything will fall into place, urging officers to lift the tempo of operations and work collectively to rebuild confidence and trust in the police uniform.
