150 people from 58 households are currently being accommodated at 5 evacuation centres across the Eastern, Western and Central Divisions.

The National Disaster Risk Management Office says 3 evacuation centres are active in the districts of Nakasaleka and Naceva in Kadavu, 1 evacuation centre in Naviti District in Ba, and 1 evacuation centre in Saint Agnes Primary in Nabua.

The NDRMO continues to strongly urge all affected communities to adhere to official advisories and to evacuate to the nearest designated evacuation centre when necessary.

Members of the public are advised to remain vigilant, prioritise their safety, and continue to look out for one another during this period.

Meanwhile Police in the Western Division are on the ground assisting people to move to evacuation centres.

Please move now to higher ground or to an evacuation centre if you are living in flood prone areas.

You can call 1681 should you need any help.

You can also call Police on 917 or the National Fire Authority on 910.
