A 28-year-old man from Malolo, Nadi, is currently in police custody after allegedly being found in possession of illicit drugs believed to be methamphetamine and attempting to bribe a public servant.

Police say the suspect was searched by officers in Nadi earlier this morning, where seven ziplock plastic packets containing a white substance believed to be methamphetamine were allegedly found in his possession.

Following the discovery, police add that the man reportedly attempted to bribe one of the officers by offering $500.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
