Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s playmaker Waisea Nacuqu will be joining Mike Friday Select 7s squad for the McDonald’s Coral Coast Fiji 7s, replacing former All Blacks Gillies Kaka.

Kaka has been ruled out after medical advice confirmed he requires surgical treatment, bringing an unfortunate end to his involvement in the upcoming campaign.

Nacuqu brings with him a wealth of international sevens experience, renowned pace, and proven try-scoring ability.

His inclusion ensures the Mike Friday Select 7s remains a formidable and exciting lineup ahead of the 2026 McDonald’s Coral Coast Fiji 7s.

Head Coach Mike Friday says Nacuqu is a proven match-winner at the highest level of the game.

He says his speed, instincts, and professionalism make him an ideal fit for this group, and they are excited to have him join the squad.

Nacuqu will join Fiji 7s teammates Semi Kunatani, Jerry Tuwai, Manuaeli Maisamoa, Malakai Tobau, Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Akuila Momo, and Ilikimi Torosi in the Mike Friday Select 7s squad.

The Coral Coast Fiji 7s will be held from the 15th to the 17th of January, 2026.
