Manchester United climbed back into the Premier League’s top five with a narrow 1–0 win over Newcastle United at Old Trafford, thanks to Patrick Dorgu’s stunning first-half goal.
The hosts were badly depleted, missing seven senior players, including captain Bruno Fernandes, due to injury and international duty.
Mason Mount was also forced off at half-time, further limiting Ruben Amorim’s options.
Despite Newcastle dominating possession with 66 percent and seeing Lewis Hall’s thunderous strike crash off the underside of the crossbar, Eddie Howe’s side could not find an equaliser, extending their poor recent run.
The defeat leaves Newcastle with six losses in their last nine away matches, while United strengthened their push for European qualification.
