A man who has maternal links to Veivatuloa Village in Namosi has been removed from the village after marijuana was found at his home.

Tui Namosi, Ratu Suliano Matanitobua told fijivillage News that the decision was based on a Domestic Violence Restraining Order issued by the court, which states that anyone found in possession of drugs or cultivating marijuana in Namosi will be removed from their place of residence.

Ratu Suliano says the man was given time to change, and once he assures that he will not commit the offence again, he will be accepted back into the village.

He adds that in several cases he has encountered, those found with drugs in Namosi are mostly visitors and not individuals listed under the Vola ni Kawa Bula.

The Tui Namosi also highlighted that police in Navua have informed him that there has been a decrease in drug-related cases in Namosi since October last year.
