Legend FM hosts Alex and Victoria take top radio honour at FAME Awards

Alex Elbourne and Victoria Vollmer of Communication Fiji Limited's Legend FM Breakfast Show have expressed their delight after being named Best Show or Personality at last night’s Fiji Achievement in Media Excellence (FAME) Awards. 


The popular breakfast show has been on air for 11 years, making Elbourne and Vollmer the country’s longest-running breakfast duo across all languages.

Reflecting on the challenges of their role, both hosts cited the early mornings as the hardest part of the job.


Elbourne says one of the things he and Victoria do really well is understand that people need them to get a good start to the morning.


Meanwhile, CFL founder and Chairman William Parkinson was inducted into the Hall of Fame Class of 2025.


fijivillage News Director Vijay Narayan won two of the most prestigious honours, Premier Award for Best Radio Journalist of the Year and Best News Report for Television and Video; he was also the finalist for the Best Commentary, Analysis, Opinion or Critique Award.


Radio Navtarang’s Masala Mix Show was awarded Best Show or Personality in the Hindi Language category.


In the Marketing and Advertising category, John Vakaloloma took home the award for Best Radio Advertisement for his impactful “Eyes up, phones down” campaign.
