A severe thunderstorm warning for Northland has been lifted, but flooding has already affected parts of the region and more heavy rain is expected.
Meteorological Service says downpours have eased across the Northland radar area, leading to the warning being cancelled, however, forecasters say further heavy rain is still likely across eastern Northland early this morning.
A Heavy Rain Watch remains in place for Auckland and the Coromandel Peninsula until 1pm, with a moderate chance it could be upgraded to a warning.
People are being urged to keep up to date with the latest forecasts as conditions continue to change.
