Four roads closed in Viti Levu while 34 in Vanua Levu

34 roads in Vanua Levu and four in Viti Levu are currently closed due to the recent heavy rains affecting the country.

The Fiji Roads Authority say Nadelei 4th Crossing in Tavua, Katudrau Crossing at Vatumani Road in Rakiraki, Arolevu Crossing, and Chuni Lal Concrete Crossing in Nadi are closed to all traffic.

They adds that the affected sites in Vanua Levu include Dawacumu Ford Crossing and Sigawe Crossing at Namuavoivoi Road, Korokadi Crossing, Lutukina 2 Crossing at Drawa Village Road, Navudi Road at Kawakavesi Road, Zailav Low Level Crossing, Vunivere Crossing at Lalakoro Road, Naqumu Crossing, a culvert crossing at Navidamu Road, Buavou Multi Arch, Toberua Crossing at Buavou Road, Bagata Crossing, Vunivesi Road, RP 92 Levuka Road, Nasaqa Low Level Crossing at Delaikoro Road, Nakorotari Crossing, Waidamudamu Bridge at Nakorotari Road, Nakama Crossing at Naduna Road, Lajonia Junction at Nabouwalu Road, Wailevu Tiri Flats at Wailevu Tiri Cane, RP 620 Namoli Road, RP 2507 Bulileka–Vaturekuka, Naleba Flats at Wainikoro Road, Coqeloa Temple Road/Waiwari Junction, Qeledamudamu Crossing at Coqeloa Road, 1st Culvert Crossing at Nayarabale Road, Lovoniqai Crossing at Nayarabale Road, Nayagalevu Crossing at Nayarabale Road, Lagalaga Flat, Nawi Culvert at Daunana Road, and the Dakuniba New Crossing.

Several routes are open to 4x4 vehicles only, including Nacegacega Crossing at Nabukelevu Road in Serua.

FRA say in Vanua Levu, Konasami Low Level Crossing at Bulileka Road, Boubale Crossing at Qawa Road, Nagigi Flats at Wainikoro, and a single-lane restriction at Vusavivo Crossing on Valavala in Natewa.

FRA is urging the public to avoid these areas, follow advisories, and only travel if necessary.
