The Fiji National University says it remains committed to maintaining a drug-free learning environment following a recent police investigation at its Derrick Campus in Samabula.
FNU Vice-Chancellor Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba says the university is fully cooperating with police during the investigation.
Professor Nabobo-Baba stresses that the university maintains a zero-tolerance approach to drug use and possession across all its campuses in Fiji.
She says if anyone is found violating the university’s strict policies, they will face immediate removal from the institution.
The Vice-Chancellor also reiterated that under the university’s Drugs, Alcohol, Kava and Tobacco Policy, all FNU campuses are designated as drug-free zones.
She further says that the policy clearly prohibits the possession, use or distribution of any illegal substances on university premises.
Professor Nabobo-Baba says the rule applies equally to both students and staff, highlighting the university’s commitment to safety, health and integrity across all campuses.
We have sent further questions to police.
