Fijian Drua brace for physical battle against Umaga’s Moana Pasifika

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua are preparing for a tough and physical clash against Moana Pasifika this week, acknowledging the threat posed by the side under former All Black Tana Umaga.

Speaking from the Drua base yesterday, Head Coach Glen Jackson says Moana will be a dangerous opponent, especially after Drua lost to them in North Harbour last year.

Jackson admitted his side did not fire enough shots in that encounter, but says the team has learned valuable lessons from the defeat.

He added that this is an exciting stage of the season, with all teams well prepared and ready for competition.

After 14 weeks of training, the players are eager to finally take the field.

Jackson emphasised that sticking to their game plan and the style of play they want to maintain throughout the season will be crucial in securing a win.

The Drua play Moana Pasifika at Churchill Park in Lautoka at 3.35pm Saturday.

In other matches, the Crusaders will face the Highlanders at 6.05 pm tomorrow and the Waratahs play the Reds at 8.35pm tomorrow.

The Chiefs play the Blues at 6.05pm Saturday while the Force meet the Brumbies at 8.35pm.
