Get ready to dig a bit deeper into your pockets for fuel in the new year as prices have gone up but the good news is that the price of gas has come down.

The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission says the price of unleaded fuel has increased by 4 cents, rising from $2.57 to $2.61 per litre, and premix has gone up by 4 cents to $2.45 per litre.

The price of diesel has gone up by 8 cents to $2.35 per litre while the price of a litre of kerosene has increased by 9 cents to $1.86.

The cost of a 4.5kg gas cylinder has fallen by 29 cents to $13.33, and a 12kg gas cylinder goes down by 78 cents to $35.55.

Bulk LPG is now costing $2.74 per kg after a 6 cent reduction, while autogas now costs $1.88 per litre, down 4 cents.
